Studying music and the arts can be a very exciting time for students and their families. Our hope is that your time spent at Blue Oceans will be memorable and life-changing. In pursuant to this, there are a few things that will help ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Payment: All new students pay a non-refundable registration fee of $20. Tuition is monthly, and is due on the 1st day of the month. Payment should be made at the last sesson of the current month, and checks postdated for the 1st. Payments received after the 1st day of the month will be subject to a $20 late fee.
Policy: Beginning September 1, 2009 students will pay their monthly fee based on 4 weeks/lessons per month. Even when there are months with 5 weeks'lessons, students still only pay for 4 weeks of lessons. This allows for 48 weeks of lessons annually, with two weeks off for christmas, one week for spring break, and one week off during Thanksgiving holiday. Studying at Blue Oceans Music is continuous year around.
Materials & Supplies: Blue Oceans Music provides all books and materials to the student as part of their music educational experience, unless discounts are included in the monthly tuition. In case of additional books and materials being needed, Blue Oceans will seek permission from the student in advance of any purchases.
Cancellations: Any lessons/classes that are cancelled/missed due to the instructor not being ontime and present, will be made up to the student within 14 days. Lessons that are missed without at least a 48-hour notification from the student will only be made up at the instructor's discretion. It is the student's responsibility to make prior arrangements for any missed lessons.
Lesson Times: Tardiness is not justification for going over and into the next student's lesson time. We will make every effort to stay on schedule and respect everyone's time. Please remain in the loby or other waiting areas before and after your lesson.
Notification: A 30-day written notice should be made if a student decides to discontinue their studies with Blue Oceans Music. Adhering to this policy will help keep the student ahead of others on any waiting lists, should they decide to begin their studies again.
